Coordinated Entry: Best Practices in Centering Equity and Ensuring Effectiveness Webinar

Thursday, April 18, 12:00 p.m. PST

Hosted by the National Alliance to End Homelessness: Effective Coordinated Entry Systems increase consistency, efficiency, and equity in communities' work to end homelessness. In practice, implementation has been an enormous challenge. Challenges in implementing effective Coordinated Entry Systems have made the scale of homelessness more visible and laid out gaps in existing services while exposing (and in many cases exacerbating) racial inequities within homelessness and housing systems. Learn from communities who are taking these challenges head on, harnessing the new clarity that Coordinated Entry has provided, and taking bold steps towards realizing the promise of a more equitable and functional Coordinated Entry System.

Reminders

Get Involved with HMIS Using the New "Guidance for ECM and CS Providers on use of the Homeless Management Information System"

HMIS is an integral part of the homelessness response system, helping providers see client's comprehensive history of care and allowing our community to understand the overarching needs of the system. To provide background on HMIS, steps to access, and teach best use of entering ECM and CS service data, Anthem has provided a use guide (linked below).

Additionally, you can ask questions and learn more about HMIS through a monthly workgroup meeting, also linked below.

Learn About the Coordinated Access System

Just over a year ago, Sacramento made a decision to create an equitable community where everyone has a safe place to call home. The Coordinated Access System (CAS)—a collaborative effort between Sacramento Steps Forward, 2-1-1, the City of Sacramento, and Sacramento County—launched in December 2022 to provide a single point of access and support for people experiencing homelessness.

The CAS has been pivotal in its approach, connecting Sacramento’s service providers and partners to create a more accessible, efficient, and person-centered system for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
