QUESTION & ANSWER

QUESTION: WHY SHOULD I CHANGE MY OIL EVERY SEASON EVEN THOUGH I BARELY USED MY BOAT?

ANSWER: It is imperative to change your oil and filter every season. Condensation builds up in the crank case and then it emulsifies in your oil. This breaks down the lubricating properties of your oil and promotes corrosion of your internal parts. Regardless of use change the oil and filter to best protect your engine.

“I have been at Lynnhaven Marina for the past 15 years with several different boats and at one point I had three boats in the Boatel. I have exclusively used the Service Department to maintain, upgrade and repair my boats and numerous inboard and outboard configurations. I have received reliable, efficient and professional service from both the Rigging and Mechanical Departments throughout all these years. They treat my boats as if they were their own and they expeditiously complete repairs on or ahead of schedule and always in a cost conscious manner. I can rely on the Service Department to provide recommendations on the best course of action to affect repairs or upgrades and I never worry about whatever actions they recommend. In my over 50 years of recreational boating and serving on 4 Navy ships I know how important professional, reliable service is to the customer. Lynnhaven meets all my expectations and I enjoy working with such a knowledgeable and courteous Team!”

AVOID THE GUT-PUNCH: THE COST-SAVING POWER  OF PROFESSIONAL BOAT MAINTENANCE

Imagine that gut-punch feeling when the mechanic tells you that your boat motor is messed up. Remember that feeling when he tells you how much it’s going to cost? Our technicians don’t like doing that. But when people try to work on their boats by themselves, it’s going to happen. That’s why our crew wishes boat owners would hire professionals to take care of things - especially preemptive work that can help keep trouble on the water at bay. “When the professionals do the work, the customer has peace of mind it will be done right,” technician Charles Rogers said.
