ACEC OKLAHOMA members, I hope everyone is doing well. The last few weeks have provided plenty of excitement surrounding Oklahoma's political environment.

Senator Inhofe's Retirement has triggered an incredible chain reaction. Congressman Markwayne Mullin has entered the race to replace Sen. Inhofe, which has opened Oklahoma's Second Congressional District. Several sitting state legislators are vying for the seat including Representative Avery Frix, Representative Dustin Roberts, Senator Marty Quinn and others in what is a crowded field. You can learn more about the candidates here. As a reminder, June 28th is the primary election for all state and federal races. Be sure to make plans to vote. Oklahoma State Election Board (0270)

Additionally, our request bills (HB 3484 and SB 1463) have passed from the house of origin. They will move to their respective committees in the house and senate for consideration. Thank you to our members who advocated with their lawmakers to advance our bills! We are also monitoring legislation impacting OTA and will continue to keep the membership up to date.

OTA's ACCESS plan, as mentioned in the previous newsletter, has generated pushback from some residents being impacted and the Norman City Council voting to oppose the project. OTA has been engaged with state and local officials holding meeting and discussions.

Finally, if you or someone within your firm have an interest in serving on ACEC OKLAHOMA's Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee is accepting submissions. Please Email up here by April 27th if you are interested.

We will keep you apprised of political activities related to the midterm elections in addition to any progress made surround our legislation at the State Capitol.
