VALLEJO PD ARRESTS HUMAN TRAFFICKING SUSPECT WANTED FOR KIDNAPPING, SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR

VALLEJO - Recently, Vallejo Police Officers were alerted to a human trafficking case involving a minor from the State of Nevada. Officers were notified that 21-year-old Ramon Joseph Reyes Medina of American Canyon, CA was wanted in connection to the kidnapping, abuse/neglect of a child involving sexual exploitation, eluding a peace officer and sex trafficking of a 17-year-old juvenile. Reyes-Medina had an extraditable warrant out for his arrest involving this case and was also wanted for similar charges in another jurisdiction.

On April 19, 2022 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Vallejo Police Officers located the vehicle associated to the suspect in the 2000 block of Solano Avenue and attempted to conduct a felony stop. Upon initiating contact, the vehicle failed to yield and fled the attempted stop. A short pursuit ensued when the vehicle crashed into a center divide in American Canyon. The driver, later identified as the suspect Reyes Medina, fled on foot and was quickly apprehended.

One of the three remaining passengers inside of the vehicle was identified as the 17-year-old minor (reported as a runaway) from the State of Nevada. The minor was safely recovered and released into the custody of Child Protective Services (CPS). Upon further investigation, Vallejo Police Officers also recovered another missing juvenile at a local address without incident and released them into the custody of CPS.

Reyes-Medina was booked into the Solano County Jail on multiple charges. The investigating agency responded for follow-up. The Vallejo Police Department would like to sincerely thank our dispatchers, officers and allied agency partners for their collaborative efforts in locating the suspect in this case.
