The College of Science applauds the impressive achievements of its scholars, including 2022 university-wide award recipients Vicki Allan, USU Faculty Service Award; Susannah French, Faculty Researcher of the Year; and Makenna Johnson, Master’s Student Researcher of the Year. The college’s awards ceremony is Thursday, April 21, at 4 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Sky Room.

The university commencement ceremony will be held Thursday, May 5, at 9 a.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, and the College of Science Convocation Ceremony will be held that same evening, also in the Spectrum, at 6:30 p.m. Guest tickets are required for all graduation events. Please remind your graduating students to RSVP for the college convocation. 

Faculty who would like to participate in this Convocation event will not need tickets and should gather at 6 pm, in the Waynes Estes Center immediately west of Dee Glen Smith Spectrum to line up for the procession into the Spectrum.

Kudos to the grad student and undergrad researchers who participated in Rapid Fire Research 2022. The new presentation format, initiated by Manuel Santana, the college’s 2022 Peak Prize Undergraduate Researcher of the Year, has been a successful showcase of student ingenuity during the 2021-22 academic year.

Nine USU scholars were named 2022 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellows and seven received honorable mention from the competitive STEM graduate program.

Science Unwrapped thanks its featured speakers for the 2021-22 “Science on the Horizon” series, along with volunteers and participants. The college’s public outreach program returns with a new series for 2022-23 in September.

The College of Science invites applications to a faculty cluster hire of at least four positions on the Logan campus, to enhance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) efforts in science and mathematics disciplines in our college.
