I-STREET Hosts Invitational at the FAV Summit in Orlando, Florida
Industry partners attended the University of Florida’s Implementing Solutions from Transportation Research and Evaluation of Emerging Technologies (I-STREET) Living Lab Program invitational at the Florida Automated Vehicles (FAV) Summit November 30th in Orlando, Florida.The FAV Summit assembles industry leaders from around the world to address technologies, operations, and policy issues.
During the invitational attendees were able to learn more about Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects that utilize emerging technology applications for improving safety and mobility. UFTI Director, Dr Lily Elefteriadou and I-STREET program coordinator Dr. Pruthvi Manjunatha presented the numerous advanced technologies including connected and autonomous vehicles, smart devices, and sensors that the I-STREET Living Lab deploys and evaluates.

Graduate Course on Fundamentals of the Transportation Profession to be Offered in Spring 2022
The University of Florida Transportation Institute, in collaboration with Florida Department of Transportation, will be offering a course titled Fundamentals of the Transportation Profession in Spring 2022.
This course will provide an overview of all aspects pertaining to professional practice of transportation including history, organizational structures, legal aspects, finances, human resources, asset management, leadership, marketing and communications, innovation, and technical overview of select topics. The objective of this course is to help students understand the historical underpinnings and the current state of transportation as a profession; critically think about the future of the professional practice; articulate the ideas orally and in writing; and learn real world examples from guest speakers (academics and practicing professionals).
Limited seats are available for students interested in taking this class (including non-degree-seeking students).

The coursse will be entirely online with synchronous lectures
Tuesdays and Thursdays
11:00 AM to 12:15 PM, ET
The content will be delivered by several guest lecturers who are experts in the field.

STRIDE Hosted Online Event to Showcase Innovative Products Generated from Cutting-Edge Research
The 3-day held on November 16, 17, and 18 included 16 products which have emerged from STRIDE-funded research in the areas of transit and mobility options, advanced strategies and technologies for congestion mitigation, and equity in transportation. The tools and strategies created are useful for departments of transportation, transit agencies, planners, students, and researchers.

The STRIDE Center is the USDOT grant-funded 2016 Regional University Transportation Center comprised of 10 colleges and universities in the southeast. The University of Florida is the lead institute.

Register for the 7th Annual UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region
The goal of the conference is to disseminate information about UTC research, encourage collaboration on future projects, and highlight intellectual property and technology transfer, which are important topics for the USDOT and UTCs.
Conference organizers welcome and encourage workshop proposals related to the conference theme from faculty and practitioners. Workshop presentations will be held either on March 25 or during the conference.
