Thank you to all the parents who attended the SUHSD Annual Mental Health Matters Virtual Conference November 14-19. The conference was an opportunity to increase awareness and support for parents, caregivers, students, and families. It was hosted by the Special Project Department and Pupil Personnel Services Department, sessions were provided during the evening in English and Spanish by presenters from Monterey County Behavioral Health, the Epicenter, CSUMB, and SUHSD staff, including school social workers. This year’s topics included: understanding the experience of LGBTQ+ youth, the impact of trauma and resilience on students, grief and loss, suicide prevention, anxiety, and depression.
