CCS Cross Country

After four plus months of training, and six races against each other, the young men from Alisal and Salinas cross country teams found the time to show respect for what they did for each other. Both teams have been top two in the entire PCAL all season. While neither team reached the final goal of reaching the State Meet, both realized that they could not have had the same success without each other. Congratulations to both teams. -Coach Chagnon

Thank you to all the parents who attended the SUHSD Annual Mental Health Matters Virtual Conference November 14-19. The conference was an opportunity to increase awareness and support for parents, caregivers, students, and families. It was hosted by the Special Project Department and Pupil Personnel Services Department, sessions were provided during the evening in English and Spanish by presenters from Monterey County Behavioral Health, the Epicenter, CSUMB, and SUHSD staff, including school social workers. This year’s topics included: understanding the experience of LGBTQ+ youth, the impact of trauma and resilience on students, grief and loss, suicide prevention, anxiety, and depression. CCS Cross Country

Después de más de cuatro meses de entrenamiento y seis carreras entre sí, los jóvenes de los equipos de cross country de Alisal y Salinas mostraron respeto mutuo. Ambos equipos han estado entre los dos primeros lugares en todo el PCAL durante toda la temporada. A pesar de que ninguno de los equipos alcanzó la meta final de llegar al campeonato estatal, ambos equipos se dieron cuenta de que no podrían haber tenido el mismo éxito sin el otro. Gracias a todos los padres que asistieron a la Conferencia Virtual Anual No hay Salud Sin Salud Mental de SUHSD del 14 al 19 de noviembre. La conferencia fue una oportunidad para aumentar la conciencia y el apoyo de los padres, cuidadores, estudiantes y familias. Fue organizado por el Departamento de Proyectos Especiales y el Departamento de Servicios de Personal Estudiantil, las sesiones fueron proporcionadas durante la noche en inglés y español por presentadores del personal de Salud mental del Condado de Monterey, Epicenter, CSUMB y SUHSD, incluidos trabajadores sociales escolares. Los temas de este año incluyeron: comprender la experiencia de los jóvenes LGBTQ +, el impacto del trauma y la resiliencia en los estudiantes, el dolor y la pérdida, la prevención del suicidio, la ansiedad y la depresión.
