House of Peace—Monthly ICNYU Mosque Visit

Our House of Peace welcome visits to the Islamic Center are back! Now that the NYU facilities are open to the general public again, we’ll be welcoming our Muslim friends to Jummah services on the second Friday of every month. So mark your calendars for July 8, August 12, and beyond. As we did before, we'll gather at 12:45 p.m. at the Global Center for Spiritual Life at NYU, 238 Thompson Street, and remain there until 2:30 p.m. No RSVP necessary; come and go as you wish!

At our Liberal Minyan, we pray old and new liturgy in both Hebrew and English. We read the triennial, partial section of the k'riyah (reading of the Torah portion), with a discussion to follow. We offer healing prayers at every Torah service, with an opportunity to say Mourner's Kaddish.

This Museum of Jewish Heritage program, co-presented by CBST and moderated by Rabbi Marisa James on June 2, brought together scholars of LGBTQ+ experience in Germany before 1933 and through the rise of the Nazis to highlight history that is deeply relevant today. Watch the recording here »

Limmud Principal Announcement  

Our Limmud b’Shabbat Principal, Jennifer Kleinbaum, will be stepping down from her leadership position after three incredible years in this role. Since 2016, Jennifer has worn many hats in service of CBST—stepping up when/wherever there is a need. We wish Jennifer and her entire family endless blessings as we close this year together.
