From the Desk of the Tall Cop
Tomorrow is a VERY special day for cannabis smokers. The date of April 20th is also known as 420 or the national “stoner” holiday.  Some even say it is the 50th anniversary of 420 and we can assume they want to make this day even more special than others.

During this week of 420, you will see businesses running specials on cannabis products, paraphernalia, and clothing and of course, discounts on other non-cannabis items, including drug paraphernalia.

Please pay special attention to “420” activity on the highway and in our schools.  Regarding our schools, this is a prominent day to get stoned with friends or others in their social groups.  Seeing that it falls on a school day some of this will occur on school grounds.  Also, they will want to highlight their favorite or “best” drug-related clothing, backpacks, stash items etc.  Basically, there will probably be more volume of drug related activity, in addition to the vaping and other things you normally see.

Regarding our highways and roadways, you might see people traveling to events, festivals, bars, etc.  420 is a highly celebrated day and those involved with prevention, education and enforcement need to pay attention.

Other terms associated with 420, include: it’s 419-got a minute, 421-I’m running late, it’s 420 somewhere, it’s 40 (minutes) until 5, etc.
