Swap out your studded tires by Sunday, March 31

Sunday, March 31, is the deadline to remove studded tires from your vehicle.

State law allows studded tires between Nov. 1 and March 31. You can get a $165 fine for using them out of season. Studded tires damage roads by creating ruts that cause rain to collect, creating slick conditions.

Chains, snow-approved all-season tires and other traction devices are still options if it snows after April 1.
