Charlestown Day 2022

September 24^th

Volunteer duties will include: set-up; direct parking; assist with games/activities/crafts; clean-up.

Steps4Hope - Oct. 9th

The Steps4Hope 5k/walk will be held at Great Valley High School from 8am-12pm. We are looking for 15 volunteers to help with the runners and assist with setup and cleanup. Sign up now!

The Steps4Hope Foundation assists local programs, awareness and educational events, grief support and provide much needed resources for those in early recovery. Steps4Hope is committed to raise awareness, end the stigma associated with the disease of addiction, and save lives.

Coming This Fall

Cradles to Crayons Children’s Clothing Drive

This will be the 4th Annual C2C drive. Ouirst three years were a great success and we're looking forward to greater things this year! From mid-October through early November we will be looking for many volunteers to help.

GVCO Caring Hands Tent Sale - November

Once again we have received a significant donation Christmas holiday items from an online gift retailer and we will be hosting our Tent Sale at the GVCO Community Center complex for several weekends this fall. We will be looking for numerous volunteers to assist with this event.

Home of the Sparrow Winter White Out Event - November

We will be partnering with Home of the Sparrow to assist women facing homelessness to secure housing and achieve long-term stability.

"Good Neighbors" - Holiday Gift Wrapping

For many years, we have been wrapping hundreds of gifts and delivering them to several local senior centers during the holidays.

We will be looking for numerous volunteers to assist with this event later this Fall.

Volunteers, please look for correspondence in the next couple of weeks from Caroline Sommers, this year's Caring Hands student leadership president. Caroline will be working with the GVCO Caring Hands advisory board, our local partners and the student volunteer group to help coordinate the many initiatives and opportunities Caring Hands will get involved with throughout the year. Let's welcome her and give her some help!

We hope you can be part of the celebration at Whitford Golf Course and join GVCO and Hall of Fame Coach and Honorary Chair of the Event, Dick Vermeil for a weekend all about community.

The Whitford Classic will take place Friday, September 23rd - Sunday, September 25th. To be part of the celebration you can:

Winter Basketball

Registration for Winter Basketball opens Sept. 15th

GVBL Winter Rec League for grades 1-8 is open to:

• Players who attend Great Valley public schools
• Players who attend non-public schools located with the boundaries of the Great Valley School District

High School League

The GVBL Boys High School Winter Basketball League is open to boys in grades 9-12 as of September 2022. All players MUST be residents of Great Valley School District.
