Class of 2022!
Take Back Your Vape Campaign Success

On May 5th, a "Take Back Your Vape" event was held at North Hunterdon High School. Amanda Kovacs and Paige Ewing spent the day collecting vaping paraphernalia. Anyone who dropped off vaping material received a gift card and a chance to win a larger prize in a raffle. In addition, 273 students signed a banner to pledge to stay away from smoking and vaping and be tobacco free! Thank you to the students and staff at North Hunterdon! If you are interested in holding a "Take Back Your Vape" event, please contact Amanda.
June is all about Celebrating Safely

June is full of celebrations and we wanted to focus on underage drinking in our community. This month's conversation card focuses on having safe celebrations and having that discussion with your kids about UAD. Conversation cards are in both English and Spanish. Participants can win ShopRite gift cards just by completing a survey! Contact Wendy to learn more about the conversation cards for the family meals project.
DEA Takeback Day results!

DEA Takeback Day was held on Saturday, April 30th. On that day, 327 pounds of medications were collected. From October 2021 through May 2nd, the Hunterdon County drop off boxes have collected 1,048 pounds of unused or expired medications! Please remember, drop off boxes are located throughout the county for use 365 days a year! You can find a location here.

May was about Mental health

We created our first conversation cards for the Family meals initiative Thank you Jeannine Gorman and the Flemington Area Food Pantry for your partnership!

Save a Life!

If you have Narcan in your school or place of business, consider adding a sticker to where it is stored to ensure people can find it when needed. Many are placing it within their AED boxes for easy access in an emergency. You can get stickers here and you can register for Narcan trainings here.

The TikTok Message

Do you know what your children are watching? Reports indicate that youth spend as much as 8 hours a day on social media! As cannabis use & legalization becomes more widespread, research is showing social media is playing a part in normalizing use and even depicting it in a positive way. Read about it here.
