During the May 18 Council Meeting, Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel A. Regalado and Director of the Miami-Dade Public Library System Ray Baker presented conceptual design renderings for a new library in Key Biscayne that would offer residents greater library services while maintaining the area's pond and garden.

The proposed project will be fully funded by the County and the project would include community meetings that will give residents the opportunity to provide feedback.

Golf Cart Registration Continues

Golf Cart.jpg

As a reminder to the community, golf cart registration is currently underway to ensure the safety of each vehicle.

The Key Biscayne Police Department will be calling all registered golf cart owners to schedule an inspection. During this process, the KBPD will not hold residents accountable for driving with expired registrations as the department works with the community to return to normal operations.

Residents who have never had their golf carts registered with the police due to COVID-19 are asked to please contact the police department at 305-365-5555 or to visit the police station to begin the initial registration process.

Drivers are reminded:

  • To operate a golf cart, the driver must have a valid driver's license or a valid learner's permit and be accompanied by someone with a valid driver's license.
  • Golf cart operation is subject to the same laws applicable to other motor vehicles, including those related to child restraints (infants to 3 years old are required to be in a separate carrier, such as a car seat; children aged 4 and 5 must be in a booster seat; this applies to any location in the vehicle) and seatbelts.
