Cyber2yr2020: ACM Curriculum Guidance for Associate Degree Programs in Cybersecurity Webcast
The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Committee for Computing Education in Community Colleges (CCECC) published Cybersecurity Curricular Guidance for Associate-Degree Programs, known as Cyber2yr2020. These guidelines are based on ACM’s CSEC2017 guidelines for 4-year programs and align with the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) 2019 knowledge units and the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.
This is a valuable resource for schools looking to create new, or update existing cybersecurity programs. This program was a winner of the National CyberWatch Center’s 2020 Innovations in Cybersecurity Education award in the Program Development category.

Federal Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Resource Guide
This NSF-funded research project explored the viability of cybersecurity apprenticeships for federal agency pipeline support. During the 18-month effort, a Working Group of 15 federal, academic, and practitioner experts developed a strong dialog and presence in the apprenticeship space. Aided by close ties to the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Working Group on Apprenticeships, the project developed a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the apprenticeship model, and identified key ways to improve the adoption of apprenticeships. Infrastructure Security Month (November) 2021
Each November is celebrated as Infrastructure Security Month (ISM). This is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) annual effort to educate and engage all levels of government, infrastructure owners and operators, and the American public about the vital role critical infrastructure plays in the nation’s well being and why it is important to strengthen critical infrastructure security. ISM 2021 will focus on the umbrella theme “Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience: Build it In” as a reminder to all audiences how important it is to consider infrastructure security from design concept all the way through development and implementation.

Rider University Launches WiCyS Student Chapter, CybHer@RiderU
Rider University joins two New Jersey schools in establishing a Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) student chapter, called CybHer@RiderU, one of the only WiCyS student chapters in the state. Marissa Neef, who was awarded a scholarship to attend the 2021 WiCyS Conference in Denver, CO this past September, is the chapter’s president. CybHer@RiderU’s inaugural event is scheduled for April 5, 2022 and will feature guest speakers from SheTek and NJCCIC.

(ISC)² Cybersecurity Workforce Study
The (ISC)² Cybersecurity Workforce Study is conducted annually to assess the size of the current cybersecurity workforce as well as the talent shortage. It aims to better understand the barriers facing the cybersecurity profession and uncover strategies that organizations can use to recruit, build and strengthen their cybersecurity teams. It provides insights on these talented individuals who are excelling in this field and securing their organizations’ critical assets. This year’s study includes data on the effects of remote work on organizational cybersecurity practices, insights on the people and tech investments that are planned over the next year and strategies for closing the gap.
