SAFETY TIP: Always check that your electrical appliances are in good working condition, without frayed cords or other damage. Overloading outlets can be a fire hazard, so avoid plugging too many devices into one outlet. Remember to unplug appliances when they are not in use, especially those that generate heat, such as irons and toasters. Keeping your home safe from electrical hazards helps prevent accidents and ensures a worry-free summer.

Volunteering at The Mustard Seed Garden

Our VOLTS members from EPE's Safety Department had an inspiring experience volunteering at The Mustard Seed garden. They helped tend to veggies, fruits, and herbs, all of which are used to prepare over 1000 free meals weekly and are delivered to several shelters. The sense of community and fulfillment from knowing our efforts are nourishing those in need was truly rewarding.

Stay Cool, Improve Comfort, and Save Energy!

Hot summer days create heavy demand on the energy grid when the operation of refrigerated air conditioning increases. The Energy Wise Savings Program allows us to work together to be more efficient, which can also save you money.

To participate, your home must have a smart thermostat that can be controlled remotely during occasional summer periods when energy demand is seasonally high. The Program works with your smart thermostat to help manage your energy use while keeping you comfortable during periods of high demand.

Donating Fans to Beat the Heat

Staying cool for the summer! El Paso Electric donated 100 fans to residents hosted by Senator Cesar Blanco for the Fan Drive held at Project Amistad. Our VOLTS members assisted in handing out the fans to the community. We are proud to continue our annual support in this amazing community event!

Supporting the Extreme Weather Task Force

El Paso Electric provided a $5,000 donation to the Extreme Weather Task Force to bring fans to those in need. EPE joined forces with our community partners to bring awareness to the need and opportunity to donate fans for the community during the summer months.

Donate a fan at any fire station near you in El Paso and make a difference in our community!
