Friends, families and supporters:

They say “less is more,” so this week’s update is offered with that sentiment. From all of us at JFGH, thanks so much for your continued interest in the goings on at the agency over the past year. Your support means the world to us.

We continue to watch our testing numbers decline and our vaccination numbers increase!
Lots of testing at JFGH, which has been central to our infection control protocols since about this time last year (remember all the incredible advocacy work we were doing, along with others, to push for testing resources for DSPs—our testing protocol was an absolute game changer for us!). In our post-vaccination universe, we’re easing our testing protocols and watching the number of diagnostic tests dramatically decrease.

In the meantime, we’re seeing our vaccinations trending in the right direction. Among staff, 96% have received at least the first dose, with 87.3% fully vaccinated. And, among folks we support, 97.5% are fully vaccinated. These are impressive—and growing each week—numbers of us who are fully vaccinated…well worth celebrating.

Across Maryland and Virginia, community vaccination continues to inch forward. As of this morning, the NPR Vaccination Tracker shows that 25.4% of Marylanders and 23.9% of Virginians are fully vaccinated. We continue to watch these data very carefully as we contemplate continued adjustments to our protocols going forward.

Finally for today, all three of our MOST Program locations will participate in Good Deeds Week by collecting nonperishables to address food insecurity in our region. Next week, we encourage you all to make donations that will help fill the shelves of local food pantries! Please see drop off details below.
