Parent Testimonials of First Steps
"My son was born 10 weeks early, which was a life-changing experience, to say the least. We began working with First Steps before leaving the NICU, and our relationship continued for many months after we were home. I found the most valuable aspects of First Steps to be both the objective and supportive professional perspective I received as a new mother."

"My little boy was born at 25 weeks. It was very unexpected, but thankfully he is very healthy. I spent 3 months in the NICU, and he only had to have eye surgery. First steps contacted me from the beginning and offered me any therapy my baby could need. We only needed OT, but they were more than wonderful to my baby and me. Now I work for them!!! It’s a program I recommend to anyone that needs the help!!"

These programs include home visiting, child care and preschool. Through collaborative efforts with state agencies, providers and communities, Missouri is working to ensure that families and other caregivers have the knowledge, resources, skills and tools available to help children grow to be safe, healthy and successful learners.
