In 1983, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first National Inventors’ Day on February 11th, which takes place every year on Thomas Edison’s birthday. The proverb “Necessity is the mother of invention” says a lot about how inventors look at life. They are a progressive, forward-thinking bunch. Without pacemakers, traffic signals, rubber bands, or coffee filters, where would we be?
HOW TO OBSERVE ?
- Keep inventing!
- Share your creations.
- Recognize an inventor you know.
| |
|
National Donor Day was started in 1998 on February 14th. The aim is to increase awareness about organ donation and the lives it saves. In the United States, more than 120,000 people are waiting for a life-saving organ donation. A single donor can save up to 8 lives and help more than 75 people.
HOW TO OBSERVE ?
- Sign up for blood donation.
- If you’ve received the gift of an organ share your story.
- Use #NationalDonorDay to post on social media

PLEASE NOTE: If you have ANY reservations regarding graduation for Spring 2023 semester, please do not apply for OPT until after semester end grades have been posted.
Maintaining status on OPT is still the same as usual
You are permitted only 90 days of unemployment between the start and end dates on your EAD card. In addition, you are required to report the following information through the SEVP Portal while on OPT within 10 days of the change:
1. When you start a new job.

3. Periods of unemployment.
4. 6-month validation
Can I travel back to my home country during OPT period?
