Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that
values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,
you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!
☕🤝New This Sunday! 🤝☕
Pre-Worship Coffee & Fellowship
Gathering together in fellowship is an important aspect of our worship life at CHPC. After a time of prayerful discernment, the Session recently approved the reimplementation of a previously enjoyed practice of Christian hospitality.

All are welcome to share the Peace of Christ during a simple fellowship time with coffee available before worship beginning at 9:30 in the Parlor starting this Sunday, June 5. Hope to see you there!
Passing of the Peace
The Passing of the Peace is a time in worship to warmly greet one another in the name of Christ. It's a reminder of our shared identity and demonstrates our shared mission to love as Christ did.

Starting on Pentecost, our church family will share the peace of Christ in a familiar yet new way immediately after the Words of Welcome and Announcements. All are invited to kindly greet each other by extending Christ's Peace through a hello, a handshake, a high five, or a hug. Please be mindful of your neighbor's physical comfort level as some may prefer simply passing the peace verbally at this time. May the Peace of Christ be with you!
This Sunday in Worship
Join us this Pentecost Sunday as we celebrate our recent graduates and confirmands! All are welcome to stay for a congregational lunch after worship outside under the pavilion. Sunday school classes will not meet.
Sunday's Scripture (NRSV):
Acts 2:1-21

Psalm 71 testifies that a foundation of faith established during childhood helps ensure lifelong faith and service.

Sunday's Pentecost Offering unites us in a church-wide effort to support young people and inspire them to share their faith, ideas, and unique gifts with the church and the world. You may also give online here.
VBS 2022: July 10-14

Summer Fellowship Dinners
Looking to connect with your church family? Break some bread and spend some quality time together with Fellowship Dinners this summer!

The Congregational Family Life Mission Team is sponsoring six Summer Fellowship Dinners from June through August. This is a great opportunity to foster connections within our congregation and simply get to know each other better!

Different hosts (or groups of hosts) are needed for each of the six dinners. Dates will be determined based on hosts/level of interest. Contact Gretchen Bentley to sign up to host or to join the interest list to participate.

Name Tags
Need a name tag for Sunday morning? Order forms can be found in the narthex, or you may contact the church office. The cost is $10.50. If you have a pacemaker and need a name tag with a pin instead of a magnet, please let us know.

Waverly Road Food Pantry
Food insecurity is a harsh reality that faces many in our community. By supporting Waverly Road Presbyterian Church's Food Panty with food donations, we contribute to an important resource that serves those in need. Non-perishable food donations may be left in the marked basket in the narthex during office hours or on Sunday mornings. Thank you for supporting this important mission!

Upcoming Mission Trip: Appalachia Service Project
This October a group from our church will join other volunteers in Jonesville, VA to volunteer with ASP. It is a great way to connect the energy of our youth and experience of our adults with the real needs of families in our region. Details and more information can be found here or contact Allen Booth or Mike Strickler.

Covid Protocols
Out of shared desire to love others as Christ calls us to do, Covid protocols are still in effect which includes masking being recommended but not required during worship. You may read the guidelines in detail here. Please contact the front office if you begin to feel poorly after attending worship. Thank you for your willingness to love thy neighbor in these ways as we seek to faithfully serve in Christ's name.

Support Ukraine Through PDA
PCUSA is providing aid through the ministry of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) to address the humanitarian crisis created by the war in Ukraine. PDA responds to national and international crises and is mobilizing to provide food and other needed supplies to those in Ukraine. You can learn more about their important work here.
