Police: Beware of scammers claiming to do work for the City of Cleburne
Cleburne Police Department is asking the community to be aware of a current scheme where scammers claim to be performing work for the City of Cleburne and demand money from potential victims.

Scammers will approach a resident and say they provide a service such as cleaning property or tree trimming “on behalf of the City” or “contracted with the City," and the service needs to be done to be in compliance with a City Code or Ordinance. They then say they can provide the service and demand immediate payment.

There are never any circumstances where the City of Cleburne will send a third party to your property to perform work and require payment on sight. The scammers will pressure you to make you feel if you do not allow them to perform the service you could be fined or cited.

If you are approached in this manner always check with the city first. As always, you can call the police department non-emergency number at (817) 645-0972 if you have any questions or concerns.

Holly really loves her food and can be a little possessive at times so she will do best in a home without other pets or in a home who is willing to feed separately and seek professional training to help her overcome this issue.
