Special Edition September 2022
Public Workshop for Downtown Revitalization

What would you do with $4.5 million? Help plan the future of the Hamlet of Copake on Saturday, Sept. 10, 9am - 11am at the Copake Town Hall.

You can also join via Google Meet by visiting www.copakewaterfronts.com/nyforward.

Copake is applying for a grant from the NY Forward program, which provides funds for downtown revitalization, and could result in a grant of $2.25 - $4.5 million. Last year, the town applied for the $10 million grant from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. This year, New York State is awarding grants specifically for smaller, more rural communities, such as ours.

On Saturday, Sept. 10 at 9am, River Street Planning and Development will conduct a public engagement workshop to asses the needs of the hamlet and what residents want to see happen in the hamlet, in order to create a vision and identify goals and projects for our application. All are welcome to attend and participate in what will be a dynamic and interactive session.

For more information about the NY Forward program and Copake’s application process, go to www.copakewaterfronts.com/nyforward. On the website, you will also find links to a short survey and to a project submission form. Your input is important, so please fill out the survey!
If you wish to submit an article or notice regarding a community event taking place in the Town of Copake to the Copake Connection, please e-mail: thecopakeconnection@gmail.com. All submissions should be received by us by noon on the 10th of the month.
