Volunteer for a Village Committee or Commission

The Village is always seeking residents interested in serving on a committee or commission, which can act as advisory boards and make recommendations to the Village Board. The committees include:

  • Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA): The PCZBA focuses on development, plan review and recommendations for zoning changes, and is responsible for updating the Village Comprehensive Plan.

  • Architectural Commission (AC): The AC reviews building requests, including signage, with an emphasis on aesthetics and harmony within the Village.

  • Conservancy/Scenic Corridor Committee (CSCC): The CSCC provides advisory information on conservancy districts and scenic corridors.

More information on the committees and volunteer opportunities can be found here. Those interested can complete the Volunteer Profile online, or contact Sherry Shlagman at 847-634-9440 or sshalgman@longgroveil.gov.

Lake County Sewer work notice: February 20-24 on Aptakisic Road
Insituform plans to start sewer line maintenance work for the Village of Lake Zurich, along Aptakisic Road, within the Village of Long Grove, on Monday, February 20, weather permitting.

Work is planned to be completed by Friday, February 24.

During that time, “white noise" from the boiler and compressor will be used to cure the liner. The boiler and compressor will run 24/7. There will be no weekend work.

The maintenance work includes the installation of a Cured In Place Pipe Liner (“CIPP”). While the CIPP process is quicker and less disruptive than traditional open-cut excavation, the large-diameter pipes will require crews to work around the clock.

Insituform plans to start this 24 hour around-the-clock operation on Monday, 2/20/23. Once this work begins, it must continue until finished.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Village Hall at 847-634-9440.
