CAC's Outdoor Water Park Running on Adjusted Hours
The Community Activity Center's Outdoor Water Park is now open! However, along with most pools in the DFW area and across the country, the CAC has been affected by a lifeguard shortage. Due to this shortage, the hours of the Outdoor Water Park will change until further notice. Please see the adjusted schedule below:
- Mondays and Wednesdays
- 3 to 8 p.m.
- Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
- 12 to 5 p.m.
- Saturdays
- 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The CAC’s indoor pool is already operating on an adjusted schedule, which will continue until further notice. If you need a reminder on those hours, please visit www.flower-mound.com/468/hours.
We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for understanding as we work through the current lifeguard shortage. We hope to expand hours when we have the appropriate number of certified lifeguards to staff the Outdoor Water Park and indoor pool. Both pools’ hours are subject to change. Be sure to check www.flower-mound.com/468/hours before you visit for the current hours. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a lifeguard at the CAC, please apply at www.flower-mound.com/jobs.

Tree Recognition Program Returns
|
Help us recognize some of Flower Mound’s amazing trees through our annual Tree Recognition program! In 2013, the program was created to help raise awareness about large, historic, and unique/rare trees in our community. The Schwartz Family American Elm, which is approximately 65 feet tall and 40 inches in diameter, won last year. This year, you can nominate a tree that meets one or more of the following criteria:
- Large: The three factors of measurement include diameter of the trunk at 4.5 feet above ground level, the height of the tree, and the average spread of the canopy.
- Historic: The tree is associated with a historic event where a notable activity occurred, has documented history in the community, or was considered a well-known landmark before the incorporation of the Town.
- Unique/Rare: The tree is a specimen not commonly found in the area.
All trees nominated for this recognition should be well maintained, in good health, and in an area accessible for review. For more information, or to download a nomination form, please visit www.flower-mound.com/treerecognition. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, Aug. 31.
