2 to join WKU's Hall of Distinguished Alumni during 2022 Homecoming
Members of the 2022 class of WKU's Hall of Distinguished Alumni are the late Dr. Randall “Randy” Capps and Mary R. Nixon.
A beloved WKU professor and a successful business executive and community leader will join WKU’s Hall of Distinguished Alumni this fall.

The late Dr. Randall “Randy” Capps (’61) and Mary R. Nixon (’77) will be inducted during WKU’s 2022 Homecoming Celebration. The 31st class of noted alumni will be recognized during a luncheon on Oct. 28 at the Eva and Jim Martens Alumni Center.

The Hall of Distinguished Alumni is presented by Franklin Bank & Trust, a longtime supporter of WKU. For more information, contact the WKU Alumni Association at 270-745-2586.

Congratulations to the WKU Farm Market & Creamery for their winning varieties of cheeses at the Kentucky State Fair dairy competition. The Creamery won four blue ribbons and four gold medal awards. Learn More
Spotlight: Exhibit Opening
This Thursday at 5 p.m., the Kentucky Museum will premiere First Farmers of the Barren River Valley, an exhibition showcasing recent excavations of a Native American village in Warren County.
Warren-Brooks Award winner to present lecture Sept. 16
Dr. Ato Quayson, winner of the 2021 Warren-Brooks Award, will visit WKU on September 16 to accept the award and give a guest lecture on his award-winning book, Tragedy and Postcolonial Literature. The event will take place at 3 p.m. in Cherry Hall 125 and is being co-sponsored by the English Department and the African American Studies Program. All are invited to attend.
Project Launch Plus hosts students from 34 districts
The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU announces 34 school districts in Kentucky and Tennessee participated in Project Launch Plus, a federal Javits grant this past school year.
KYNETIC Training Series
WKU faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the 2022 KYNETIC (Kentucky Network for Innovation & Commercialization) Translational Training Series. KYNETIC is a translational grant and education program that is open to all of Kentucky’s public higher education institutions.
