Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp Goes Virtual for 2021

Last month, 11 families met for an all-remote version of our annual Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp. The camp is open to families with children and teens who have recently lost a loved one to cancer. “It was amazing what we could do in only a few video sessions,” said CancerCare's Claire Grainger, MSW, LCSW-R, OSW-C. “Our families went from Zoom links to heartstrings immediately."

A Legacy of Support: The Krakow Family

In the 1990s, Jonathan Krakow joined a CancerCare young adult patient support group after being diagnosed with brain cancer. Sadly, Jonathan passed away at age 25. Ever since, his family and friends have supported CancerCare’s annual Walk for Hope. “Every time we have contact with CancerCare, he lives on in the continued work that you do,” his brother Doron shared.

Read more about the Krakow family in our recent blog post and donate today. To learn more about getting involved with CancerCare, please email Eunice E. Hong, Director of Philanthropy, at ehong@cancercare.org.
