New Resource from NBOA
"Effective Financial Governance for Independent School Trustees"

If you ever wanted a useful handbook on understanding and implementing best practices for 'financial governance,' the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) recently released a new publication in September,
"Effective Financial Governance for Independent School Trustees."

I ordered a copy and have been looking through it so I could share some thoughts with you. What I like about this book for board chairs and trustees is that you can read it like a book or you can just go to the section that you want guidance on and the content is presented in a straightforward, useful way. Each chapter starts with 'Key Takeaways' and then is broken down into the following sections:
Background
Key Questions
Essential Trustee Knowledge
Fundamental Information

Click on the link below to discover more about the content of this book and ordering information. Don't forget to ask if your school is a member of NBOA to get the member price of $60. Non-member price is $85 for print and e-book access. Consider adding this resource to your school''s governance library. Wait, governance library? I guess that's a topic for a different Chair Post.
