Stickwork Install Volunteers

In our February newsletter we announced that Patrick Daugherty, the award-winning, internationally known, creative artist behind Stickwork will be joining us in June to create a sculpture on property.

With a focus on cultural history, community

celebration, and outdoor engagement (amongst others), we are excited to welcome Patrick and his son Sam to the property to share their passion and creativity with all who visit.

We heard from several of you wanting to volunteer and help with the project... thank you! We are in need of several more volunteers to help with a variety of projects during the three-week install from May 26th - June 17.

Our History (one piece at a time)

Farm Families

HSBF is collecting as much of its rich history as possible. As part of our 3-year strategic plan, starting this summer we will be collecting oral histories from those who worked on and were involved in the farm over the past several decades. We have contracted with an expert who resides right here in Door County to lead us through this process. We plan to kick off this initiative this month and will need 3-5 volunteers to help us throughout the summer.

If you are passionate about collecting history or have experience in interviewing others, please contact us.

Flower Garden Volunteers

Over the past few years, HSBF has become known for our beautiful dahlia garden.

As we continue to expand the garden and keep growing these unique and beautiful flowers, we need additional help from volunteers.

We look to plant over 1,300 tubers between the June 1 and June 5 and need extra help during that time.

Throughout the summer and into the early fall we will need help weeding, deadheading, cutting, etc. as well.
