Introduction

After completing an initial study regarding the region's view of the FRCOG's future role in regional emergency response, Ardent Decisions Group presented their findings to the FRCOG Council in early May.

Their findings indicate a belief amongst stakeholders that the FRCOG has a responsibility to provide both regional and municipal support during times of emergency, combined with a reluctance to confer authority upon the FRCOG.

Meanwhile, the sub-regional teams that undertake emergency dispensing site (EDS) planning have conducted an assessment of the plans developed under the Mohawk Area Public Health Coalition (MAPHCO), a program of the FRCOG's Emergency Preparedness Program.

In the next phase of this process, Ardent Decisions Group will convene municipal stakeholders to take a deeper dive into these analyses and findings (links to documents below), and discuss:

  • What do our stakeholders believe "readiness" for all hazards-emergencies looks like?
  • Given the agreement that the FRCOG should play a role in regional response coordination, what is that role?

Target Audience:

We invite the following municipal stakeholders to attend:

  • Select Boards/City Council
