Hi!

Time is something that continues to steam roll all around us. There never seems to be enough of it. But one thing I do know is that September is the time of the year that ushers in fall.   It has always seemed that September brings with it the most dramatic effect on seasonal changes.

For example, don’t you just love to drive through the fallen leaves?  Don’t you look forward to wearing big, oversized sweaters, as the weather becomes crisp and cool? Aren’t the colors on the leaves amazing? You should take a drive through the Georgia mountains and into Tennessee to experience the most beautiful orange and gold color splashes that nature unleashes on the trees for our eyes to marvel. Visit a library first, to plan your trip!

Also, we may all have those moments on which we can reflect and appreciate the changes brought on by the month of September. Staff at public libraries celebrate September as National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN UP MONTH
National Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15 to October 15. During this month of celebration. The date is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries. We pay tribute to the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

SCORE A GLADIATOR TICKET BY READING BOOKS
Our friends at the Atlanta Gladiators want to give you and your family the opportunity to earn free tickets to some great hockey action! If you are unfamiliar with the team, the Atlanta Gladiators are a part of the East Coast Hockey League and have partnered with Georgia libraries since 2017.

All kids have to do is read three books, and they'll be good to go to see the "Glads" take the ice at the Gas South District Arena in Duluth.

The official Hat Trick for reading night is January 7, 2022 versus the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

Your chance to earn free tickets ends December 20, 2021 so make sure to register by then!
MASKS REQUIRED IN ALL LIBRARIES
Due to a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases locally and nationally, the Board of Commissioners has updated its policy on mask requirements to protect the health and safety of our employees and the public while visiting our facilities.

Effective Thursday, August 5, masks are required for all employees and visitors in Fulton County facilities, regardless of vaccination status.

In addition, all meeting and conference rooms will be closed to the public. Study rooms will remain available, but limited to no more than 2 persons in a room at any time. Visit our website for more information on this change.
