Fusing with Laurie
Beginning in August, Laurie Schock returns to SGS for six weeks of fun-filled fusing classes. Students will go in depth on the essential knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to work with fused glass.
Beginning Fusing: Fridays, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Retro Plate with Lynda Rivard
Practice your cutting skills with this unique retro pattern! Learn the process for basic pattern cutting and clear glass displacement. Once fired, your tile can be slumped into a bowl, sushi plate or candy dish.
Prerequisites: Basic cutting skills

Furnace Glassblowing I

This three-month intensive is a unique opportunity to build fundamental glass blowing skills.
Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary for working in the hot shop, and explore cold shop work (cutting and grinding) to give projects a professional finish.

Catalyzing Creative Aging Program at Hacienda at the Canyon
Sonoran Glass School staff recently wrapped up an eight-week class at the Hacienda at the Canyon. Participants designed and created sun catchers, plates, bowls, and mosaic projects, and were encouraged to draw upon their life experiences for imagery and inspiration.
The Catalyzing Creative Aging seed grant was provided by the National Guild for Community Arts Education and made possible, in part, by generous support from Aroha Philanthropies and the NAMM Foundation. The Catalyzing Creative Aging Program is presented by the National Guild for Community Arts Education in partnership with Lifetime Arts, and includes group training, one-on-one coaching, and funding.
