BC HOCKEY ANNOUNCES DETAILS FOR THE
2021 PROGRAM OF EXCELLENCE
BC Hockey has announced that the Program of Excellence (POE) Provincial Camp for the Female U18 and Male U16 programs will take place in Pitt Meadows, BC on August 19-22, 2021.

This year the Provincial Camp will be the first step in the evaluation process for the 2021 POE season. Ultimately, Team BC will compete at the 2021 National Women's U18 Championship (Female) and the 2021 Western Hockey League (WHL) Cup (Male).

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the timeline for this year’s POE program has been condensed. Due to this reason, the decision was made to start the 2021 Program of Excellence at the Provincial Camp stage. This means that the 2021 program will be by invitation only. Currently, the plan for the 2022 POE is to return to the Regional Camp structure that is open to all age eligible participants.

To determine the invitation list, BC Hockey worked closely with key stakeholders and partners including Hockey Canada, the WHL, the BC Hockey AAA Leagues, the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) and coaches from across BC and Yukon. Invited players will be notified via email with further details on registration and cost.

Provincial Camp invitees must meet all Program of Excellence player eligibility requirements outlined in the BC Hockey Policy Manual as well as:
  • Female U18 Team BC 2004 born and younger
  • Male U16 Team BC 2006 born

Rosters and full camp schedules will be posted when determined.
