BC HOCKEY FEMALE U18 AAA
LEAGUE GENERAL MANAGERS
BC Hockey has announced the Female U18 AAA League General Managers for the 2021-2022 season.

This upcoming season, the Female U18 AAA League schedule will move from three game weekends to two game weekends which will increase athlete performance and better align with their school schedules.
FRASER VALLEY RUSH
AL WOZNEY (10th season)

Al Wozney finished his minor hockey with the Burnaby Winter Club, winning the 1982 Air Canada Cup National Midget Championship, then going on to play Junior A Hockey with the Burnaby Bluehawks of the BCJHL. After injury ended his playing days, Al took up coaching in 1983 in Toronto, then coached in Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2001, he returned to BC to coach in Richmond. After 35 years of coaching, Al transitioned into management of sport programs and tournaments. 

"I am very proud and honored to give back to the game I love. BC Hockey has afforded me some tremendous opportunities but none greater then the opportunity to assist young female athletes achieve their goals and dreams," said Wozney. "I am grateful to return as general manager of the Fraser Valley Rush and to be able to be a part of the continued growth of female hockey in BC"
GREATER VANCOUVER COMETS
EMILY ALLEN (1st season)

Emily started playing hockey at the North Shore Winter Club and grew up in a hockey family spending the majority of her childhood around a rink, whether playing or just watching games. Emily graduated with a Sports Management degree from Brock University.

"Since I can remember I have wanted to work in hockey. Working in a male dominated industry has had its challenges, but they are challenges I am passionate about changing," said Allen. "I want to grow female hockey in BC and make sure that all girls have an equal opportunity to chase their dreams, whatever they might be. I am is extremely excited to be joining the Greater Vancouver Comets organization as the General Manager. The Comets have a rich history of excellence and I hope to help continue this tradition of success in the future."
NORTHERN CAPITALS
TREVOR SPRAGUE (3rd season)

Trevor has been involved in hockey in BC for more than twenty years and now holds the position of General Manager for the six high performance teams located in Prince George that represent Northern BC, including the Northern Capitals . He is passionate about developing young athletes and providing all players with the opportunities they need for success.

Sprague adds “I am looking forward to the season ahead. We’ve learned a lot about our organization and the dedication of our players over this past year; we know in many ways it’s made us stronger and we’re grateful for that. We can’t wait to get back to competitive hockey."
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN LAKERS
BOB PETTY (2nd season)

Bob is a CPA working as a Financial Controller in Kelowna. Bob has over six years of past experience working as a Division Director in Kelowna Minor Hockey.

“I am very much looking forward to my second year as GM of the Lakers for the 2021-2022 season, where hopefully, we can enjoy a much more normal season," said Petty. "I am excited to help continue to build and be part of a Lakers team that has a strong foundation on the ice, but of equal importance, has a very strong community based presence."
VANCOUVER ISLAND SEALS
KELLY GROOMS (2nd season)

Kelly has been involved with hockey for many years, starting out as one of the only female players throughout her minor hockey years. She played on one of the first all female teams to represent BC at an tournament when she was 16 years old.

Grooms says: "I have coached, managed and volunteered at my local Minor Hockey Association for the past several years. I am passionate about growing the female game in BC from grassroots to U18 AAA. I am excited to return for my second season with the Vancouver Island Seals as we continue to grow this program here on the Island."
