APRIL 1:
  • Deadline for athletics directors to submit their Declaration of Intent, which identifies an institution's list of sponsored sports for 2022-23. Submissions due through NAIAHelp.
  • Students registered for spring 2022 eligibility who are not yet in line for review will have their PlayNAIA applications cancelled.

APRIL 8-12: NAIA National Convention will be held at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center.

Championships
NEW: Men's and Women's Basketball National Championships

Both the men's and women's basketball national championships concluded Tuesday night with Loyola University (La.) capturing the men's red banner and Thomas More (Ky.) earning the women's title.
NEW: Bid Deadline to Host Baseball and Softball Opening Rounds

The NAIA national office is currently soliciting bids for baseball and softball opening rounds. An opening round certified facility is required to bid and the deadline is April 15, 2022. 
 
Please submit your bid to host a baseball opening round to Marc Burchard or a softball opening round to Lendsey Thomson.

NEW: 2022 Proposed Legislation Now Available

The proposed legislation for 2022 is now available. There are ten proposed bylaw amendments, which will be voted on at the Annual Business Meeting on April 12, 2022.

NEW: Brenda White Named "Working Together" Award Winner

The NAIA national office celebrates contributions made by staff members with the new Working Together Quarterly Award. The peer-based award program recognizes colleagues for work that has positively and profoundly impacted the NAIA members, student-athletes, and fellow NAIA staff members.
 
This quarter's recipient is Brenda White, director of legislative services. Brenda was recognized for her leadership with both the NAC and NAC executive committee. The group consistently praises her for her preparedness and organization. Her leadership, empathy, and poise are demonstrated daily with the legislative staff, peers, and legislative stakeholders.

Offering Digital Mental Health Support for Today's College Students
Sunday, April 3, 7 p.m. Central:
One of today’s top student-facing concerns in higher education is mental health. Given the shift to online delivery of student services, institutions are exploring ways to support the efforts of campus counseling centers. Mantra Health representatives will discuss the evolution of mental health delivery and why partnering with digital mental health companies is now an integral part of supporting students. Open to all, with primary audience of: student affairs professionals, counseling center staff, FARs, presidents, ATCs. (ATCs can receive a 1-hour CEU courtesy of USCAH)

  • Monday-Thursday:  8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. CT
 
NEW: EC Overview Webinar
The NAIA Eligibility Center is hosting a webinar for new members, new campus staff and those wanting a refresher on the EC on Thursday, May 5, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (CT). Attendees will learn about PlayNAIA processes and navigating the website including: student registration, how to navigate student eligibility, using the NAIA Registrar Portal, and more. NEW: InCred Spring Business Hours Change

InCred has adjusted business operation hours on Fridays in March and April, closing early at 3:30pm (CT).
Partnerships
NEW: Yes! Athletics Signs New Partnership with NAIA

The NAIA announced it is partnering with Yes! Athletics to become the "Official Women's Wrestling Shoe Provider of the NAIA". The partnership is effective immediately and runs through March 2023.
NEW: NAIA has Three Preferred Ring Vendors

The NAIA has three preferred ring vendors - Baron RingsHerff Jonesand Signature Rings that are the “Official Licensed Suppliers of Recognition Rings of the NAIA.” Each of the three companies has extensive experience in providing custom, championship rings for both collegiate and professional athletics.
