A message from our Missions Pastor

Hey Legacy Family,

What an incredible Easter Service we had this past Sunday!! We were so encouraged to see more faces coming back to church and worship together. I can’t wait to meet more of you as you come back on campus.

I have a bit of a testimony from a ministry called Hearts4Mexico who confirmed the church plant we helped a few months ago was able to survive because of the assistance we gave in December. They said with the support we gave, they were able to put in place a new Pastor with financial backing and now the church has more people attending than before covid! Thank you, Legacy Church for giving so faithfully to the general budget which allows stories like this to happen. I pray that this encourages everyone reading because it shows where our heart is as a church family.

I had the wonderful privilege worshiping with the residents of Emily’s Place the Thursday before Easter and it was powerful. Tony and Jessie Prim led worship and I shared an Easter message. I am happy to report that all the residents eagerly received the message and engaged with the worship experience. We are now looking forward to doing more with Emily’s Place, for example Bible Studies, Communion Nights, mentorships programs, and so much more. Please keep your ears open for future updates!

I’m excited to share special things are happening with Missions in the next few weeks (read all the details as you scroll through our newsletter). I have a request as you scroll, to please keep our Missions Sunday, Worship & Prayer Night, Food Pak Campaign, and the other opportunities in prayer. As we move towards a more post covid environment, our mindset and commitment to missional projects, trips, outreaches, and training will increase. Let us pray that we individually are saying "yes" to the Lord in taking part of what He is challenging us to do. Some of us will be able to take part in many projects and some may only take part in one, but my challenge to all of us is that we would be sensitive to where the Spirit is directing us so we are in the right posture to say "yes" to the Lord.

As we start engaging the world again my prayer is: Father, guide us as a church family to reach people who are hurting, angry, misguided, feeling hopeless, weak, depressed, or have been away from You. Help us to be bold in faith, but gentle when it comes to speaking with them. Guide us Holy Spirit on the right words to use when speaking to anyone who needs You. For I believe Lord, when so much is going on in this world You are the answer that can penetrate the darkness, give hope to the hopeless, bring sight to those who are blind spiritually, give strength to those who are weak, and bring friendship to those who feel unlovable. And as You do that Lord would You help us who are more mature if faith to share that peace and Your example to everyone around us. It’s in Your name Lord Jesus we ask, AMEN!

Blessings,
Patrick Iga
Mission Spotlight
Food Pak Campaign
Legacy Missions is partnering with Children’s Hunger Fund for a
Food Pak Campaign from April 11th - April 25th.

Starting Sunday, April 11th, pick up as many Food Pak boxes as you like from our church atrium. Inside the box will be a specific shopping list of items that you then shop for and pack in the box. Please consider adding a note of encouragement in your box as well. Return your packed boxes by Sunday, April 25th. We will be stacking them up inside the Worship Center so we can watch the boxes grow in number.

If you are not attending in-person, feel free to stop by the office from 8am - 4pm , Monday through Thursday, to grab one as well.

All of our filled boxes will be delivered to local Christian churches who have already established a relationship with DFW families, struggling in poverty. The boxes are given to the children while the church connects and establishes a relationship with the whole family. The ultimate goal is to share the Gospel, while providing much needed support and hope.
Impact Opportunities

Please keep in mind that we still have needs in all of our church ministries. Listen to this video shared from last month for our volunteer call in March. Please pray about where God is leading you to serve to invest in Legacy Church with your time and talents.
Check out the details on our partners' current needs from our Impact Opportunities webpage, including volunteer opportunities for the upcoming Real Options Drive-Through Baby Shower in June.
Prayer Initiatives
As we continue to pray specifically for the countries of China, Iran, Mexico, and Nigeria this month, our partners' top 3 prayer requests have also been updated for the month of April.

We encourage you to refer back to and read about each country and our local and global partners' petitions on our Prayer Initiatives website.
May 2nd is Missions Sunday
Join us for Missions Sunday at our 10:30am service and then come back at 5:30pm for our Worship & Prayer Night as we celebrate God's Missions through Legacy Church, both locally and globally.
We will share video testimonies from our partners, hear a special message from Pastor Patrick's heart, and enjoy amazing worship songs and Scripture readings. You won't want to miss out!
Numana For Haiti
Once again, we are hosting a food packing party in partnership with Numana and Mission of Hope Haiti. Sign up the whole family and make plans to join us Sunday, July 11th when we will pack 20,000 food packets for shipment to Mission of Hope to distributte.
Celebrate the Wins

Thanks to your faithful giving, in addition to our monthly giving to our mission partners, we celebrate:

  • Emily's Place - $500 for Hole Sponsorship at their 2021 Golf Classic in May.
  • Emily's Place - $215 for Gently and Lowly books given to the residents at their Easter Services.
  • Real Options - $70 for the Children Bibles we will gift at their Baby Shower
  • Zoe Community - $1,000 for support to relocate their Worship Services while current church facility is under repairs from the recent freeze damage.

Thank you from Real Options
Our new Sonogram Machine is up and running!

We would like to thank Legacy Church for their continued prayers and support. God is certainly answering our prayers!

Emily's Place Easter Service
We were honored to be invited to share a private Easter Service with the residents of Emily's Place during this past Holy Week. Pastor Patrick, along with Tony and Jessie Prim, provided a wonderful worship service, ministering to them in this very special way. We are looking forward to partnering with them more, at their home, in the near future.
Real Options Baby Shower
Legacy Church is partnering with Real Options to host a drive-through style baby shower in June. Online gifts are purchased from a wish list and delivered to Real Options. Then volunteers will be needed to host the drive through as we bless these women on their special day.

Stay tuned!!
