Full enforcement of parking restrictions is set to resume in Lexington Center on Wednesday, February 1.

This includes all metered spaces, as well as paid parking lots.

For the benefit of our residents, businesses, and visitors, the Police Department has not strictly enforced parking regulations over the past few years, as the community recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please take notice of parking meters and posted parking signage.

There are no changes to the senior parking program. Those with senior parking stickers will not be charged.

A color-coded map detailing parking areas in Lexington Center is available on our website at LexingtonMA.gov/parking.

Welcoming the Newest Bay Staters; Statistics on New Births in Massachusetts

The Lexington Town Clerk submitted some interesting statistics for inclusion in Link to Lexington related to the number of births in Massachusetts.

Every day, parents throughout Massachusetts welcome new members into their families. Preliminary numbers show a total of 69,461 births occurred in 2022.

The New Year kicked-off with 129 babies born on Jan. 1, 2023, according to the Mass. Department of Public Health's Registry of Vital Records and Statistics.

Although there is littler difference from year to year, it is interesting that the last day of each year (12/31) is busier than the first day (01/01). You can see the trend in the picture shown here.
