Daniel O’Gara named Regional Academic All-Star!
|
Senior Daniel O’Gara has been selected as a 2022 Regional Academic All-Star by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Daniel, who is also the BCHS Class of 2022 valedictorian, was selected as one of 50 Regional Academic All-Stars from 289 seniors nominated throughout the state of Indiana. Daniel will be honored at an awards luncheon hosted by the IASP in April.

SAT test scores are now available for Juniors
|
Juniors may begin accessing their SAT test scores from the March 4 school day administration on Thursday, March 24. Students will need a College Board account to view their scores and can register for a free account on the College Board website if they do not have one. Students who cannot view their scores should contact the College Board’s Student SAT Helpline at 866-756-7346.

Grandparents and grandchildren alike enjoy this special morning, as they gather for the all-school Mass with a light reception following Mass. This year, Bishop Chatard will be hosting the Class of 2022 Grandparent Mass on April 7. Mass will begin at 8:45 a.m. All grandparents of our graduating seniors are invited to join us!

Congratulations to BCHS Boys Volleyball!
|

|
Congratulations to Nate Joven, BCHS senior and setter for the BCHS Boys Volleyball team, who was named the Maxpreps/AVCA High School Player of the Week for the Midwest Region. Joven totaled 61 assists (10.167/set), as well as 23 digs and one ace, and helped lead Bishop Chatard to a 4-0 record at the Carmel Opening Round Robin tournament.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association also named 13 members of the Bishop Chatard Boys Volleyball team to their preseason recognition lists.
Congratulations to Seniors Nolan Bosley, Nate Flora, Luke Gzibovskis, Charlie Harr, Nate Joven, and Michael Yurk, who were named to the AVCA All-America Watch List. Also, congratulations to Christopher Board ’23, Nick Pettrone ’23, Max Schroder ’23, Will Szentes ’23, Zeke Jarzyniecki ’23, Bryce Corbett ’24, and Jake Weber ’24, who were named to the AVCA High Risers List.

BCHS will offer Health Class this summer. One credit hour is earned for the course. Cost is $200. Classes run Monday to Friday, June 8 – 28, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. This course will be conducted in-person at BCHS. All Marion County Health Department COVID-19 directives will be followed.

BCHS Boys Soccer is hosting a meeting for incoming freshmen and their parents, along with parents of all other classes, on April 12 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. CSI: Chicago Service Immersion Trip: June 26-July 1
|
Is your student interested in putting his/her faith into action? Consider Campus Ministry’s CSI: Chicago service immersion trip. BCHS students will serve marginalized people in Chicago, pray and reflect on their experiences together, practice simple living, and learn about Catholic Social Teaching. For rising juniors and seniors, this counts for Christian Service hours for the 2022-2023 school year! There are 20 spots available. Rising juniors and seniors will be given priority.

FBI Youth Leadership Academy
|
On June 8-10, the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association will host a session of the FBI Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). The YLA is designed to promote an educational experience that will provide students with valuable leadership training and a greater understanding of the FBI. Utilizing FBI strategic planning techniques and exercises, participants will have the opportunity to hone their decision-making and leadership skills.
Interested students must complete this application, which requires a signature from both a parent or guardian and the student's principal (digital signature is acceptable).
Parents and/or guardians do not have to be present for the session. Students must arrange their own transportation. There is no cost for students to participate; lodging and all meals are included.
