"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Each year, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Day of Service. In multiple counties across our region, neighbors join one another to serve by helping landscape, clean facilities, paint, and more. This year was no different.
Mark Madison, our Director of Community Impact, represented our organization on the Athens MLK Day Steering Committee again this year, helping convene volunteers, organize logistics for day-of service, pivot to smaller and more COVID-friendly projects, and more.
"MLK Day of Service has become a day I look forward to more than the three-day weekend. And this year with more excuses not to than any other it was awesome to see folks show up to serve."
- Mark Madison, Director of Community Impact
Thank you to all of you who volunteered throughout our region on Jan. 18 as we provided hands-on care for our counties' and nonprofit facilities and their clients and guests. When we come together and serve, we make a difference.
