Spotlight: National 211 Day
211 is a vital program for our region. This February 11, also known as National 211 Day here at United Way of Northeast Georgia, is a perfect time to share the benefits of our health and human services information and referral program with your colleagues, neighbors, friends and family.

Challenges exist for everyone – and sometimes getting help can feel hard. That’s why we are grateful for our 211 program and Contact Center who make it easy for everyone in our region to get connected with local resources to meet the needs we face each and every day.

On Feb. 11, we are asking everyone to join us in celebrating National 211 Day by sharing your story of getting help through 211 or telling us how you share 211 with others – by handing out cards, putting a poster in your storefront, or more – all on social media. Post your stories and tag @unitedwaynega on Instagram or Facebook and let us know how 211 matters in your life!
A Day Of Memory and Gratitude:
MLK Jr. Day of Service
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Each year, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Day of Service. In multiple counties across our region, neighbors join one another to serve by helping landscape, clean facilities, paint, and more. This year was no different.

Mark Madison, our Director of Community Impact, represented our organization on the Athens MLK Day Steering Committee again this year, helping convene volunteers, organize logistics for day-of service, pivot to smaller and more COVID-friendly projects, and more.

"MLK Day of Service has become a day I look forward to more than the three-day weekend. And this year with more excuses not to than any other it was awesome to see folks show up to serve."
- Mark Madison, Director of Community Impact

Thank you to all of you who volunteered throughout our region on Jan. 18 as we provided hands-on care for our counties' and nonprofit facilities and their clients and guests. When we come together and serve, we make a difference.
