Whidbey Community Foundation’s 2023-2025 Strategic Plan
|
In the second half of 2022, the WCF board and staff came together to reflect on our purpose and look ahead to how they will achieve our vision. We are pleased to present our 2023-2025 Strategic Plan, which includes strengthening nonprofits, increasing grantmaking impact, and reaching donors with more options to leverage their philanthropic interests. For instance, we plan to increase our Annual Grant Cycle from $125,000 to $150,000 in 2023 and are thrilled to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Whidbey Island this year.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Now Available on Whidbey Island!

|
|
|
WCF is thrilled to partner with The Dollywood Foundation to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Whidbey Island! We are deeply committed to the well-being of young children and their families, and a program like this to bring free, high-quality books into the hands of all young children in our community is cause for celebration as we enter the new year.
In less than a month we have already enrolled over 670 children living on Whidbey and we are working to enroll more of our community every day.

Thank you Whidbey for your support!
2022 was a successful year for our Holiday Sculpture Project. We sold a total of 145 sculptures last year! Proceeds from the sales go to nonprofits on Whidbey.
Thanks to the generosity of Georgia Gerber and Randy Hudson, this campaign has yielded nearly $100k total since we partnered with them 6 years ago. Thanks also to Rob Schouten Gallery for their continued help in serving as a pick-up location for sculpture purchases.

You can still purchase any of the 6 sculptures on our website throughout the year.

“Faulty.” “Problematic.” “Racist.” These terms are now regularly used to describe the foundations that the nonprofit and philanthropic systems were built upon.
