The 2024 REALTOR®️ & Affiliate Night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 from 5pm-7pm at the Roanoke Country Club! The Affiliate Committee is very excited about our ‘Black & White’ theme this year! How do you think our Affiliates will present their booths? All black, all white, black and white photos, use a black & white movie as a theme, the history of the Oreo cookie, or will they make it a formal affair? And, which REALTOR®️ will walk away with $500 cash? We can't wait to see!

RVAR Community Service Day



RVAR is proud to have Feeding SWVA as a charitable partner. The work they do to assist those that are having a hard time putting food on the table is invaluable. The RVAR is also proud to take a day and volunteer our time to further the good work.

Join us on Thursday, March 21 for our RVAR Community Service Day with Feeding SWVA. There are two shifts, 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please contact Jim (jim@rvar.com) at the RVAR office. Space is limited so, VOLUNTEER TODAY!

Lockbox Access Hours to Change in March



Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 10^th. Standard lockbox access hours will change to 9:00AM - 9:30PM. This will not be reflected on any Supra reports – which will still show hours of 8:00AM – 8:30PM.

MLS cooperation involves two-way communication. Answer your phone as promptly as possible; check your messages as promptly as possible; and clear out your voice mail regularly so that messages can be left for you.

Virginia Housing Training – Limit Increases, New Expanded Limits & More Workshop: Join Virginia Housing instructor Frank Webster to learn about changes to their programs which will help both first time and repeat homebuyers! Income limits have been increased significantly. Sales price limits have been about ‘no money down’ and closing cost assistance for your qualified buyers.

Burn Baby Burn: Instructor Ben Briscoe of Black Goose Chimney Service will address fireplace and chimney inspections, including wood burning v. gas log fireplaces and vented v. non-vented fireplaces. Wood stoves will also be covered. Jamie Bailey of Bailey Insurance Group will address insurance implications.

Toxins in the Home: Instructor Zac Sweeney of Green Home Solutions will address mold testing and removal, along with mold prevention advice for sellers and new homeowners. He will also address indoor odor removal and other indoor air quality concerns.

Virtual GRI Classes: RVAR is partnering again with Virginia REALTORS® to offer virtual GRI classes throughout 2024. Each class is offered in two half-day sessions. Students will learn proven strategies for lead generation for Sellers, plus tips for listing presentations and marketing listings. PL Approved = 2 hours Current Industry Issues / Trends.

GRI 502 Sales Contracts

Students will receive guidance and tactical skills for writing and presenting a variety of real estate agreements, such as disclosure forms and sales contracts, including contingencies. CE Approved = 6 hours Real Estate Contracts; PL Approved = 6 hours Contract Writing.

GRI 507 Ethics & Professional Responsibility

This course will clarify how the Code of Ethics helps your business and the reputation of all REALTORS®. Case studies will provide a hands-on opportunity for learning how to apply the Code in business every day. CE Approved = 4 hours Ethics and 2 hours Fair Housing; PL Approved = 3 hours Ethics & Standards of Conduct and 2 hours Fair Housing.
