Summer 2023 IC CAE Research Fellowships


CCIS partners with numerous academic and federal institutions to provide research opportunities for students within the Rutgers Consortium. These opportunities serve to fulfill the research requirement in the CIS minor as well as individual research and professional development interests. CCIS is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2023 semester.

US Coast Guard Sector - New York 


Selected students will work under the mentorship of USCG SECNY Intelligence Staff with expertise and backgrounds in intelligence, military, law enforcement, interagency, and USCG statutory missions. This program will provide an opportunity for students to support unique and operationally vital research to advance U.S. intelligence processes and USCG SECNY operations. Upon selection, students will have the opportunity to rank each of the topics and/or mission areas for the fellowship.

National Intelligence University (NIU)


Selected students will work under the mentorship of NIU faculty with expertise and backgrounds in intelligence, military, and foreign policy.Students will support groundbreaking research to advance U.S. intelligence processes and foreign policy efforts. During the application process, students will have the opportunity to rank each of the five NIU centers participating in the fellowship.

Summer 2023 Internship Opportunities

Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA)


Successful applicants will work alongside the intelligence team to support a current project on environmental crime trends. As part of the internship, students will support the development of the Global Environmental Crime Tracker database (GECT) - making environmental crimes and prosecutions more accessible to the public and providing data analytics on trends and methodology of criminal networks involved in wildlife trafficking and other crimes.

Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)


The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in NYU Campus Safety’s Global Resiliency and Security (GR&S) prepares global NYU constituencies to mitigate, respond to, and recover from any potential impacts to university governance, operations, and business while providing consistent, reliable, advanced security technology solutions, services, and subject matter expertise to proactively enhance community safety.


The GSOC intern will work with the GSOC Director on different projects such as providing situational awareness through open-source intelligence, developing risk assessments, writing geopolitical strategic analysis, and assessing non-state actor’s intelligence, surveillance, and

reconnaissance capabilities and potential threats to NYU location(s).
