Green Team

Eden Project

The Green Team is bringing back the Eden Project this Spring and Summer to accomplish several important sustainability goals:

  • Provide nutritious sustenance for the hungry in our community
  • Teach participants the skills to grow their own food
  • Reduce local carbon output by limiting the need for widely transported, store-bought produce that relies on industrial agriculture and extensive supply chains
  • Strengthen our partnership with Gardenworks, a local mission partner that provides materials and training for folks to cultivate their own gardens.

Church members and friends of the church may participate by planting a Giving Garden at their home, or borrowed space. We commit to plant at least 30 FCCGE household gardens where a portion of produce will be directed to local food pantries and individuals in need. Questions? Contact Nancy Bell.

Please sign up below to let us know you'd like to support the Eden project with a Growing Garden!

Need a Tomato Plant?

We Gotchur Tomato Plants!

As part of our Green Team Eden Project to help provide fresh produce to those that don't have access, our Tomato Whisperer, Teresa Exner, has lovingly grown tomato plants from seed and wants you to become those plants' caregiver. Plants will be available this Sunday, May 12th after 10 am worship. What makes this even better is, the plants are free. Seriously. Have a question? Ask Teresa.

FCCGE Texting Service

Want Us? Don't Want Us? Let Us Know!

We here at FCC Communications constantly strive to reach you in the best ways possible so you're up-to-date and don't miss a thing. One way is through texting to your phone.

Texts from FCCGE will come from (630) 280-3080, so we ask that you put us in your contacts so you don't think we're spam.

Don't want to receive texts from us? We understand! Please respond to our next text with the single word STOP. We prayerfully ask that you do not respond with "Please remove me from your list" as this won't register with the system and you may still receive messages in the future.

Thank you so much for your cooperation and we'll see you in cyberspace!

Thank you to our music staff, our choir and all of you for your support and delight in what was a very special morning in the life of our faith community.

Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and FCCGE is committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. We recognize that mental illness and addiction can impact anyone, and we are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space for all individuals to seek support and resources. We believe in the power of community support and are committed to promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma together. Our ministries work to educate our congregation, and provide resources for folks who are struggling in our congregation, as well as the community beyond our walls. Contact Christine McMinn.

FCCGE Library Selections about Mental Health Wellness

In the coming weeks, please stop by the church library to check out our new resources related to mental health wellness. We've asked church members and Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center for recommendations. We will be improving our resources on a variety of topics: anxiety, depression, general mental health well-being, and more for a wide-range of ages from toddlers through adults. If you have suggestions for the church library, please contact Catherine Curtis, Director of Christian Education at  or 630-469-3096 ext. 23.

How Can I Help?

It Takes A Village To Make Hunger History

Support The Glen House Food Pantry

May is FCCGE's Month!

FCCGE helped support the Pantry from its beginning over 40 years ago. We need to continue to help meet the needs of our community. In DuPage County, almost 6% of the households are food insecure. Client demand at the Pantry has increased and it takes more to meet the needs.

May is one of the months when our church takes the lead. Consider one of these 4 ways you can help us make a difference. Find a list of most-needed items at the pantry website and leave them in the labeled bin inside FCCGE's doors, donate funds through Tithley (look for "Glen House Food Pantry" in the dropdown menu), using the envelopes in the lobby or participating as a volunteer by signing up on the pantry website.

Thanks for your support!

Vikings Rescue Elderly Man 2 Miles from the Front Line

Once again, the brave souls of the Viking Group drop everything to rescue an elderly man, less than 2 miles from the front line, to reunite him with his wife, whom he hasn't seen in a year. None of us can imagine the bravery and dedication these men possess.

Help for Migrants

The Glen Ellyn Response Team has informed us that the frequency of migrant buses coming into the city through the western suburbs is expected to increase soon and has asked us to help with supplies.

String backpacks are being purchased and

we need the following supplies to fill them:

  • 12 oz water bottles
  • non-nut granola bars
  • diapers in size 2 and up
  • small packs of baby wipes

Please deposit the items in the bins labeled "Help for Migrants" inside FCCGE's doors.

Thank you for your generosity and care.
