Please Keep Eric in your Prayers

Dear fellow parishioners,

I am sure by now that most of you have read Eric’s letter and know that he has applied to the Church Pension Fund for short-term, followed by long-term, disability. The seriousness of his medical issues requires that he reside where adequate care is available. Although the end of his tenure here has come suddenly, I know that we all realize that this is in Eric’s best interest and, ultimately, in Trinity’s best interest as well. In the coming days, we will have a gathering in Benedict Hall so that we can offer Eric our goodbyes and well-wishes. Stay tuned!

The next several months will certainly present challenges for Trinity. I am grateful to have a strong, engaged vestry to help guide us through the transition. In my years at Trinity, I have never known this congregation to falter in the face of adversity. With faith and determination- and God’s guiding hand- we will once again weather the storm.

Your thoughts, prayers, comments and suggestions are always welcome. Do not hesitate to contact me or other vestry members with your concerns.
Meanwhile, please keep Eric in your prayers as he moves toward healing.

-- Blessings, Rennie Edwards, Sr. Warden

Home & Garden Tour, Silent Auction Returned in Grand Style on Saturday
As a former Kindergarten teacher who still thinks as a five-year-old, here are two ABC acronyms that describe this past Saturday: Auction, Beautiful homes and gardens, Community Garden; and, All Bases Covered!

Sabrina and I give our heartfelt gratitude to the homeowners, the many volunteers seen and unseen, the county and city support, and most especially God, for a very successful 2022 Historic Apalachicola Tour of Homes and Gardens.

Though the number of people who perused all the great items in our tents was less than in 2019, we feel we had a very successful Auction. Purchases, from $9 to $900, made their way to our checkout lines. Many people took time to stop chat - to tell us how great the houses were this year, and what a great selection we had to offer under our auction tents. Some left with one small thing; others left with their arms loaded.

The fact that every item in Auction tents was available as “Take Away” made everything move smoother than ever before. Our volunteers took everything in stride and got the job done. Faye Brooks took care of the Buy It Now tent, calling it “my own little store”, and had steady traffic all day long.

Someone had donated a Pilates machine that took three men to carry out to the tents. When it did not sell and we were facing the possibility of carrying it to the 2nd floor of Benedict Hall, a light bulb went off. We called the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and offered them the machine. Within 15 minutes officers had arrived, and it was on its way to the Deputies' workout room. Oh, and remember the Eastlake chairs & mirror featured in the last Bay View? They caught the eye of Carolyn Placeway who purchased, then donated, them to Trinity.
