NACAC Conference Award Recipients
Attending the North American Council on Adoptable Children was an amazing experience. There is always an opportunity to learn more about what children in care need. NACAC is a membership based organization that can help you learn how to better advocate for your child because of the training and resources they offer. This can help make your fostering experience more successful.

During the conference I got the chance to see people be awarded for their contributions to the foster community Alison Caliendo- Executive Director and Founder of Foster Kinship, works tirelessly for children that are being raised by relatives and Sean Anders who directed the movie Instant Family. The movie is really does a great job at depicting what happens when children are in care. How they can be doing great one minute, and the next, anything can trigger a memory. If you have not had a chance to see the movie, please watch it, my family and I really enjoyed it.

Foster Change would like to put together a respite list for members that have adopted children and are not eligible for services through Department of Family Services. Every now and then I hear caregivers wanting to get away for a weekend or they need a few hours of self care. If you are willing to provide assistance to your fellow caregivers, please let us know by filling out this form with your information. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Not only are you helping another caregiver take a break, but you are connecting kids so they can make lasting friendships. If you are interested, please take a minute to fill out the interest form.
