Building Guidelines: Masks are required for all from 9am-11am. During all other hours, masks are required for unvaccinated visitors and recommended for all.

Hours: The building is open Monday-Thursday 9-7, Friday 9-6, Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 1-5.

Services: Study rooms and computers by reservation for HPL cardholders, tables and chairs on each floor, and newspapers. Express computer available for guests. More info on available services here.

Curbside Pickup: Monday-Saturday 10-1. More info on this service here.

Book Drop: Open every day, all day.

Donations: The Library is not accepting donations at this time. Please do not place them in the book drop.
Summer Reading Club
June 7-July 31

Readers of all ages are challenged to keep track of the time they spend reading to earn great prizes. The program kicks off on June 7. Learn more here.

Keep the kids engaged with reading this summer with a special HPL Book Box, available for grades 3-5 and teens. Get a bag of books with our Mystery Book Bags and Fact Packs for all ages and DIY Storytime Kits for our littlest readers.
Juneteenth Film Discussion
June 24 at 7:00 pm

Join Illinois libraries for a special film screening in recognition of Juneteenth. "The Long Shadow" follows Emmy-Award winning Director Frances Causey as she traces her family’s legacy of white privilege.
