Dear TMTA Members,

Well, this is a notice that I was really hoping I would not have to send out. However, in consultation with the SA Committee, and long and arduous discussions amongst ourselves, your TMTA Officers have determined that because of the present pandemic situation, and its unknown future, it would be best NOT to hold a live convention this June. This decision was not made easily nor quickly, and certainly wasn't the one that any of us would have preferred.

But that doesn't mean that we won't have some of the convention events in a virtual fashion. Awards, Ensemble, Performance Competition, and several Convention Activities will be available so that students can participate virtually. The SA Committee and others will be working on these immediately and details will be sent to you as soon as possible, so that you might prepare your students to participate in these online events.  We are also planning that Forums and some other meetings will happen online.

I know this is a great disappointment to you, and it is to us as well. But the very nature of our convention presently puts it at odds with the safety and health of our students and teachers.

You can be assured that we will come back in 2022 with the most amazing TMTA State Convention that you could ever imagine! We look forward to seeing you ALL there, making music and learning together in person, once again.

Be safe and be healthy.

Roy
