Principal's Message
Dear Christ Lutheran Students and Families,
Grace and peace to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
As we partner together throughout this year and enter National Lutheran Schools Week January 22-27, we remember and celebrate that Jesus is the Savior and Light of the World. He calls, enlightens, equips, and unites us to proclaim this Good News to all and to share His love, joy, hope, and peace.
Parents, I continue to thank the Lord and you for your partnership and prayers as we seek to support, encourage, and provide your children with a quality, Christ-centered education!
National Lutheran Schools Week is Sunday – Friday, January 22-27. The 2023 theme is “Making Disciples for Life”.
A flyer outlining the Spirit Day themes for the week was emailed on Thursday, 1/19. Hard copies of the flyer were sent home today, Friday, 1/20. Thank you to all of the students and families in preschool through 8th grade who have indicated that they are joining us and participating in our special NLSW Worship Service this SUNDAY, JANUARY 22. We will be having students greet, usher, sing, read Scripture, and provide special service music. Students and staff have created paper dolls that will surrounding a doll depicting Jesus. This will adorn the walls of our church!
We will also have a special chapel on Wednesday, January 25 led by Director of Christian Education students from Concordia University, Irvine!
IOWA/COGAT Standardized test results were received. They will be mailed to you along with a letter at the end of National Lutheran Schools Week.
The chapel theme for January is KINDNESS. Fruit of the Spirit awards and ZAP awards will be issued at the February 1st All-School Chapel, NOT the January 25th chapel, due to the extended time needed for our special chapel by the DCE’s from Concordia University, Irvine.
This week, I would like to acknowledge and commend the following students for all the ways they shine for Jesus and bless us at CLCS:
· KENJI (6), your faith and trust in the Lord through challenges inspires us to trust Him in our challenges. Thank you! Thank you for being His instrument of peace!
· DRAKE (8), thank you for giving and serving selflessly by providing Maria (1) pizza today. Your generosity and kindness did not go unnoticed!
· NATHAN (Preschool), thank you for your smiles that bring others and me such joy, and for being such a great big brother!
· EMILY (4), thank you for the ramen-eating frog picture you drew for me with the encouragement to FULLY RELY ON GOD (F.R.O.G.)! It is up in my office as a reminder to do just that!
· JULIET (5), thank you for the beautiful flower painting you created for me! It will be framed and placed in my office as a reminder of you and the blessing of how the Lord is helping you and our students to bloom and grow!
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father you work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
May the Lord bless and keep you this day, throughout this season of Epiphany, National Lutheran Schools Week, and always! May He fill you with his gifts of love, joy, hope, and peace now and always!
In Christ’s love and service,
Charlene Soon
