As you probably know, substitute teachers are in high demand. The DuPage ROE offers Short-term Substitute Teacher training, and the next one will be held on Thursday, June 10, from 5-7pm via Zoom. LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS
The DuPage ROE is pleased to offer two exciting leadership webinars presented by Dr. Lionel Allen, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. "Culturally Responsive School Leadership: Moving from Theory to Practice" will be offered on June 8, and "Learning from Leadership: How Leaders Learn to Get Better at Getting Better" will be offered on June 14. CHARACTER EDUCATION

-Dr. Melissa Sadin from the Trauma Informed Network will present a Train the Trainer workshop this fall. Watch for dates and registration information.
-Dr. Patracia Graczyk, an assistant professor of clinical psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will provide a 3-part series on School Refusal. School refusal refers to students who refuse to go to school or who resist going to school due to emotional issues like anxiety or depression. More information to come!

NINJA WARRIOR OBSTACLE COURSE & HEALTH AND WELLNESS EXPO
This summer, FORWARD DuPage is partnering with Shape Up Us to bring the Young Lions Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course along with a Health and Wellness Expo to the DuPage County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 21. The Health and Wellness Expo will provide equal health opportunities for all ages, families and schools. The Ninja Warrior Obstacle is geared toward ages 5-17. There will be 10 obstacles offered where children can be physically active by running, jumping, crawling, climbing, and swinging. There will be an entrance fee for the obstacle course. TEEN PHILANTHROPARTY
Hey Educators: Pass along this great resource to the teens in your life. Reality Illinois is open to all high school students in DuPage County and will be meeting in person every Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 pm during the summer. Upcoming events include "Party With a Purpose" motivational speakers Matt Matkovich and Phil Januszewski, who will help teens get motivated to make change and have fun this summer (June 15); yoga outside (June 22); tobacco litter park cleanup (July 13); and more! LESSONS FROM THE PANDEMIC
ISBE has released a short guidebook called Return to In-Person: Lessons Learned from the Pandemic. It contains no mandates, no new regulations, and no orders! It's simply full of advice and tips collected from educators across the state. This resource gives educators an opportunity to use out-of-the-box thinking to prepare to meet students where they are for the 2021-2022 school year.
