Monroe County Bicentennial Commission 
to Host Education Forum

At 7 p.m. on Monday, July 12, the Monroe County Bicentennial Commission will hold the second of a series of topical forums that coincide with the Bicentennial Commission's monthly historical exhibits. The July 12th forum, which will be held at the Board of Education Auditorium at 25 Brooklyn Ave., will focus on "Education in Monroe County" as five local school administrators and representatives will discuss their own schools and how they fit into the vast education history of Monroe County. 

Confirmed panelists include: retired Monroe County Schools Superintendent Charles Dumas, Assistant Monroe County Schools Superintendent Alicia Elder, retired Tift College English Professor Dr. Cathryn Futral, Hubbard Alumni Association President Herbert Gantt, and former Monroe Academy Coach Darrell Welch. Assistant Monroe County Schools Superintendent Jackson Daniel will serve as the moderator for the forum.
