A Conversation about Social Isolation, Loneliness, and Aging
You've probably heard a lot in the news over the past few years about the health impacts of social isolation and loneliness. But what are the actual causes of loneliness? How does it affect people differently, and why are caregivers and older folks at a higher risk?
And why doesn't your neighbor--who you know is lonely--never accept your offer to come over for dinner? Let's discuss all these things and then learn about individual and community-led solutions to the loneliness epidemic.
This conversation will help JFCS (Jewish Family and Children's Service of Minneapolis) take steps to choose a program or intervention to address loneliness within our community.
Facilitator: Maren Levad, Dementia Friendly Program Manager at Trellis.
