MINISTER'S MESSAGE
Beloveds,

This month we participate in a “Wholly Holy Uprising”. Not the violent kind, but the upward movement of our collective consciousness. Change is always happening and whether it is mostly painful or joy-filled is up to us. What would it look like if that rising up was entirely sacred or Wholly Holy? In order navigate change in a holy way, in a way that is filled with poise and confidence, we must have great faith in what is directing the change. That faith is best placed not in the humans who seem to be in charge (although it’s always better to have trustworthy leaders) but in the Invisible Intelligence that has always behind creation.

In A New Design for Living, Holmes talks about the intricate order within snowflakes, within tree rings, within leaves and cells and stars. In each case, as we look deeply at the Divine Order inherent in the physical world, we see a vast Intelligence at work that has never failed. We know there is a mathematical precision that allows a finite set up elements to combine in an infinite number of ways to create not only all the physical world, but all of the different personalities and situations in the human world.

This month we rise up in our perspective and take a God’s eye view of the world. We see that all that has been and all that is becoming is part of the Divine, is perfectly Sacred, and is Wholly Holy.

Board Report
Greetings to everyone.

The CSLP Board has appointed and welcomes Tom Smith, our newest member-at-large; we look forward to working with him.

As we move into May, we move ever closer to a physical re-opening of the Center, now that our new internet system is ready for installation. Your Board has continued its monthly meetings online, and eagerly anticipates seeing familiar faces in person soon. Stand by for further details!

This month we celebrate Mother’s Day. Ernest Holmes says in The Science of Mind “...anyone who lives in harmony with the Truth...becomes...the mother of all...God is The Androgynous Principle, the Father and Mother of all. Our earthly parents symbolize this heavenly parentage.” (P 440). I extend warm wishes to all our mothers, fathers and grandparents - and to those who stand in for them. Thank you for your guidance, inspiration and love!

Blessings to All,
Kyra Molitor (Board President)

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
DOES ANYONE WANT ANYTHING?
Hazel Bowman, RScP
One evening at a family gathering my 4-year old niece Cathy came into the living room freshly bathed and dressed in her pajamas to kiss us all good-night. When she turned to go to her bedroom, a family member called out, “Don’t forget to say your prayers!” To which Cathy replied, “I won’t.” And then she spun around to face us asking with childlike faith and simplicity, “Does anyone want anything?”

I have always loved that response. It was along the lines of “as long as I’ve got God on the phone, what do you want me to order?” There was no hesitation, no doubt in her mind that God would provide and meet every need.

It’s not what we pray to, it’s what we pray from. If you pray from a sense of fear, a sense of limitation, then you are denying that all of God is with you and all of God is for you.

The simple truth is God is the Infinite Source that is always at our fingertips. Any yardstick we use to measure God’s willingness of giving-ness was created by mortal mind, not God’s. Get rid of that yardstick! God provides for all Its creations, without limitation or lack.

As Ernest Holmes states, “But we are born to be happy, to be abundantly supplied with every good thing, to have fun in living, to consciously unite with the Divine Power that is around us and within us, and to grow and expand forever.”

Or as my niece would say, “Does anyone want anything?”

NEW CLASSES
Metaphorical Approach to the Bible

Thursdays starting May 20
5:30 – 8:30 PM
No Pre-requisite required
Bible stories are an important part of our western heritage. They have survived for two to six thousand years and are woven into the way we view the world. They tell us what to believe about ourselves.
In this 8-week online class “Metaphorical Approach to the Bible”, come join Hazel Bowman, RScP, as together you explore some of the stories in Genesis, Exodus, Samuel, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and your reaction to them, perhaps finding that some of the stories are metaphors for certain parts of your own life.

Provided on a Love Offering basis
The six week series will be lovingly facilitated by Leena St. Michael, Interfaith Minister, Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner of 25 years and yoga teacher who has been chanting Sanskrit Mantras for 20 years. Leena is a member of the Agape Global Choir, and has been mentored by internationally revered Yoga Masters including Amma--the famous hugging saint from India--and Baba Hari Dass.
In this class you will:
  • Employ the world’s simplest and most efficient tool for focus, peace, protection, and service to the world that you can do anywhere, anytime, even if you are confined to bed, responding to a disaster, or stuck in traffic.
  • Experience the powerful spiritual, mental, and physical benefits of regular mantra repetition with weekly group chanting and a 28-day practice vow opportunity beginning after the second meeting.
  • Enjoy a light-hearted inclusive series for 101 beginners through regular practitioners--release fear of Sanskrit, come with your questions, intentions, and prayer requests.
  • Learn to chant at least five essential classic Sanskrit mantras--beginning with OM--and how to use prayer beads, counters and visualizations.
  • Discover how Sanskrit mantra practice is the pure application of Universal Principles through modern brain science and the chakra subtle energy system.
  • Receive weekly multi-media resources including modern and classical versions of ageless chants for energizing, relaxing, or deeper sleep.
  • Become enthused about chanting Sanskrit mantras!

Prayer and Meditation Groups
Rev. Kathleen is offering a chance to develop a spiritual practice called Visioning. This is a form of deep listening in which one catches a higher vision for his or her life. As a shared practice, it leads to deep change, both in one’s world view and one’s activity. This practice is inspired by the Life Visioning Process introduced by Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith (book available on Amazon). Each group will be limited to 12 people and will begin online. Eventually, each group will be self-led and other groups may start in a time and place that works for the members.
Saturday option: from 9 am to 10:30 am, the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Monday option: from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
Please note: you will be allowed into the room by the moderator at the beginning of the meeting ONLY if you have reserved your place with Rev. Kathleen. This keeps the meeting from being zoom bombed and creates a safe environment.
If you are interested in joining others online for a daily spiritual practice,
please check out www.tucsoncsl.org and www.newvisioncsl.org for
their morning prayer groups.

Theme: Wholly Holy Uprising

“Life is a school which all must attend. The same Intelligence being in each, it is the task and high privilege of the individual to so develop his God-given powers that he shall not remain in the kindergarten, but may, by practical use of the lessons learned in this grade-lessons of the need of manifesting love, joy, harmony, peace and poise – go on to each advancing grade, ever increasing in the knowledge and understanding of the One who is in all, over all and through all.”

Anna Holmes, Ernest Holmes’s mother
